Registered nurses have completed schooling in communication, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, behavioral science, and social science. They have passed the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) and passed a background check. They are licensed and regulated by the California Board of Registered Nursing and must fulfill continuing education requirements annually to stay abreast of new guidelines, techniques, and treatment options.
RNs are skilled at critical thinking, problem solving, creative solutions, communication, compassion for patients, and advocating for their patients. These qualities should be available to all who need support, not limited to those in the hospital.
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to become a parent, if they so choose, and to receive the support needed to do it well.
Our current healthcare system is designed to support families through birth but falls short of supporting those same families after they are discharged from the hospital.
Baby Steps will bridge that gap, ensuring that new parents receive all the education, practice, knowledge, and support needed to build the family they desire. Through our guided process with a registered nurse, we will arm parents with the knowledge and know-how of early-stage parenting to build confidence that you are on the right path.
Baby Steps is working toward a future where every parent feels confident in their parenting skills and has access to the resources needed for support.
Families first – helping parents and babies become a family
Individual attention – everyone learns differently; we will provide creative solutions to fit each parent’s learning style and needs
Nurses matter – we will provide nurses with the freedom to create a better work/life balance, utilize their strengths, and feel appreciated
